Sylvia's first snow adventure didn't last very long, but as a future biathalon princess, it's important that she start getting used to be cold and wet early.
This year she'll be riding in the baby bjorn while I ski, but I've already started planning my trip to Norway to get a pulk for next year.
Teton and I rescued a lost dog while on our loop around the back 70. I noticed him following us as we started down the main hill at Chase's farm, but I ditched him, because he was a big, mean-looking Boxer - the kind that Teton likes to fight. I finished the loop around the Christmas tree farm and that must have taken me about a half hour.
He was still wandering around in the field and looked pretty cold and lost by this time. I sent Teton off to bring him in and he herded him right up to me. I approached him, but he growled, afraid I guess, but he liked Teton and sensed that I was going to take care of him. He followed us while I skied a great little shot down the hill back to my house.
At the bottom we had to cross a busy street, so I had to get control of the dogs. He growled every time I went to grab his collar, so I was afraid he'd bite me. Eventually, I got him to come close enough so I could just snap the leash on him and then grabbed Teton by collar. I crossed the street while they struggled and were generally both just a pain in the ass. Fortunately, the Boxer had a tag and I was able to get in touch with his owner. She was pretty darn happy to see her lost dog and that made my day.
On the pet software projects front, I am looking into an article on prototype tags in SVG but it seems like the technology they are using isn't that well supported by SVG viewers. My plan is to use SVG to build some thin-client data cube browsers along the lines of Data Beacon or Visual Mining.
